Quarterly government accounts, 3rd quarter 2016
In the 3rd quarter of 2016, the financial balance of the general government (i.e. the central government, the social security funds and the local governments) amounted to a 2.5 billion ISK surplus or 0.4% of quarterly GDP and 1.0% of general government total revenue. Compared to 9.0 billion ISK deficit in the 3rd quarter of 2015 or 1.6% of GDP in that quarter. In first nine months of the year, the surplus amounted to 378.4 billion ISK, 33.8% of the total revenue. Included in 1st quarter 2016 is extraordinary revenue of 384.3 billion ISK due to stability contribution.
