Labour market statistics, 2nd quarter 2017
The number of persons in the labour force in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was 202,500 corresponding to an activity rate of 84.4%. The number of employed persons was 195,600 while unemployed persons were 7,000. The employment rate was 81.5% and the unemployment rate was 3.4%. From the 2nd quarter of 2016 the number of employed persons has increased by 3,500 but the employment rate decreased by 0.4 percentage points. At the same time the number of unemployed persons decreased by 200 and the unemployment rate fell by 0.2 points. The unemployment rate among females was 3.5% and 3.4% among males.
