According to seasonally adjusted estimates from the Icelandic Labour Force Survey, the number of people in the labour force was 210,000 in March 2019. This corresponds to an 82.7% activity rate, which is 1.9 percentage points higher than in February.
The wage index in March 2019 is 675.3 points, 0.2% higher than in the previous month. In the last twelve months the monthly wage index has risen by 5.5%
In January 2019, value of exported goods in BOP was estimated 60,400 million ISK and value of imported goods was estimated 52,100 million.
The building cost index compiled in the middle of April 2019 is 142.7 points (December 2009=100), 0.2% higher than in the previous month.
According to data from ISAVIA, traffic through Keflavik airport, measured in flight movements and passenger movements, decreased by 13% in March 2019 compared to March 2018. For the same period, count of passengers departing from Keflavik airport decreased by 7%, with a 24% decrease in departure passengers with Icelandic passport and a 2% decrease in passengers with non-Icelandic passports.
