Total labour costs have increased by 0.7% in the economic activity of Wholesale and retail trade; repair (G), in the 2nd quarter 2007 compared to the previous quarter. During the same period total labour costs decreased by 2.7% in the economic activity of Construction (F), by 1.9% in Transport, storage and communication (I) and by 0.1% in Manufacturing (D).
Decreases in total labour costs excluding bonuses range from 0.8% in the economic activity of Wholesale and retail trade; repair (G) to 3.4% in Construction (F) in the 2nd quarter 2007 compared to the previous quarter. The index of total labour costs excluding bonuses does not include payments not paid in each pay period.
Annual increases in total labour cost ranges from 6.5% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair (G) to 11.3% in Manufacturing (D).
The Labour Cost Index measures, on a quarterly basis, the development of labour costs per hour worked. The index is not adjusted to changes in working hours or labour structure.
