The total catch of Icelandic vessels in March was just over 201 thousand tonnes which is 53% more than the total catch in March 2016. Total catch of demersal species was nearly 57 thousand tonnes which is an increase of 14% compared with march 2016. In the 12 month period from April 2016 to March 2017 the total catch has decreased by 35 thousand tonnes, or 3% compared with the same period from 2015 to 2016.
