Statistics Iceland will publish separate press release with the preliminary figures of balance of trade in October 2007 and onwards, as well as publish the figures on Statistics Iceland’s website and in short term indicators.

According to preliminary figures for October 2007 the value of exported goods amounted to ISK 28,400 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 34,900 million fob. Thus there was a trade deficit of 6,500 million ISK in October 2007, according to the preliminary figures, calculated on fob value.

Statistics Iceland has received additional information on trade in aircrafts in 2007 which will change previously published trade deficit results. Preliminary results indicate that the trade deficit for the period January-September 2007 could be approximately 2,000 million ISK lower than previous figures indicated. Final results will be published 29 November in Statistics Iceland’s press release for Iceland’s external trade January-October 2007.
