NEWS RELEASE EXTERNAL TRADE 07 AUGUST 2018

According to preliminary figures for July 2018, the value of exported goods amounted to ISK 47,600 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 63,100 million fob. Thus, there was a deficit of ISK 15,500 million in July 2018, calculated on fob value.

In July 2018 the value of exported goods was 9,700 million higher than in July 2017 or 25.6% at current exchange rate, mainly due to increased exports in industrial- and marine products.

The value of imported goods in July 2018 was 3,300 million higher than in the same month last year or 5.5% at current exchange rate. This difference is mostly due to imports of fuels.

It should be borne in mind that these are preliminary figures that may change due to regular revision.
