According to preliminary figures for March 2018, the value of exported goods amounted to ISK 48,900 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 57,100 million fob. Thus, there was a deficit of ISK 8,200 million in March 2018, calculated on fob value.
In March 2018 the value of exported goods was 9,200 million higher than in March 2017 or 23% at current exchange rate. There was an increase in all categories but the greatest increase was in industrial- and marine products.
The value of imported goods in March was 1,500 million higher than in the same month last year or 3% at current exchange rate.
