Export of services for the first quarter of 2011, according to preliminary figures, was 58,183 million ISK and the import of services 60,429 million ISK. Therefore, the services trade deficit in the first quarter of 2010 was 2,246 million ISK.
Transport was the largest category within export of services and the surplus of transport was 9,332 million ISK. Other services than transport and travel was the largest category within imports of services and the deficit of other services was 8,072 million ISK. The deficit of travel services was 3,506 million ISK.
The next publication of external trade in services, on the 31 August, will include figures for the year 2010 with revised figures for each quarter as well as preliminary figures for second quarter of 2011.
