The surplus of balance of trade in goods and services in the second quarter of 2019, as published in National Accounts and Balance of Payments, was 9,400 million ISK according to preliminary figures, compared with a deficit of 500 million ISK in the second quarter of 2018. The deficit of converted trade in goods was 42,700 million ISK while the surplus of balance of trade in services was 52,100 million ISK, in the second quarter of 2019. Total exports of goods and services for the second quarter of 2019 were 329,200 million ISK while total imports of goods and services were 319,800 million ISK.

Parallel to this publication, Statistics Iceland updates data for monthly trade in goods and services for the second quarter of 2019. In June 2019, total exports of trade in goods and services were estimated 113,800 million ISK and total imports of trade in goods and services were estimated 116,100 million ISK. The deficit of balance of trade in goods and services is therefore estimated 2,300 million ISK in June 2019.

These figures are published in the transition tables on Statistic Iceland’s website, which harmonizes the standards for trade in goods and balance of payment.
