The value of exported goods amounted to 46.8 billion ISK fob according to preliminary figures for June 2020 while the value of imported goods amounted to 59.3 billion ISK fob. Thus, there was a trade deficit, calculated on fob value, of 12.5 billion ISK as compared with a trade deficit of 29 billion ISK in June 2019, at current rates of exchange.
The value of exported goods was 1.1 billion ISK higher in June 2020 than in June 2019 or 2.4% at current exchange rate. The biggest increase in values was in marine products.
The value of imported goods in June 2020 was 15.4 billion ISK lower than in June 2019 or 20.6% at current exchange rate. The decrease can be linked to less import in transport equipment and fuels and lubricants.
It should be noted that these are preliminary figures and might change due to regular revision.
