NEWS RELEASE FISHERIES 15 APRIL 2016

The total catch of Icelandic vessels in March 2016 was 132 thousand tonnes. This is 31% less than in March 2015. Demersal catch decreased by from 53.9 thousand tonnes in March 2015 to 49.3 thousand tonnes in March 2016. The total catch in the 12 month period between April 2015 to the end of March 2016 has decreased by 5% when compared to the same period one year earlier. The vlue index for March has decreased by 12.6% since March 2015.
