The fishing catch amounted to 106 thousand tonnes in August 2025, which is 32% more than in August 2024. Demersal catch decreased by 7% between years and was nearly 30 thousand tonnes, while pelagic catch was 74 thousand tonnes, mostly mackerel.
During the twelve-month period from September 2024 to August 2025, the total catch was 1,006 thousand tonnes compared with 1,002 thousand tonnes one year earlier which is a 2% decrease.
