The catch of Icelandic vessels was 88 thousand tonnes in January 2024 which is 20% less than in January 2023. The pelagic catch was 53 thousand tonnes, 31% less than last year. Demersal catch was 33 thousand tonnes, 2% increase from January 2023.
In the 12 month period from February 2023 to January 2024 the catch was 1,356 thousand tonnes which is a 12% increase from the previous 12 month period. Demersal catch got reduced by 14% while pelagic catch increased by 30%.
