Total catch landed in July 2026 was nearly 42 thousand tonnes, 51% less than in July 2025. The demersal catch was 25 thousand tonnes, representing a 2% decrease compared with July 2025. The pelagic catch was nearly 15 thousand tonnes, a 74% decrease compared to July 2025.
In the 12-month period, from August 2025 to July 2026, the total catch was 1,062 thousand tonnes, an8% increase from the preceding 12-month period. There was a 20% increase in the pelagic catch, largely driven by capelin while the demersal catch decreased by 6% between periods. The flatfish catch decreased by 13% between periods.
