Icelandic vessels landed 28 thousand tonnes in June, 21% less than in June 2023. Decreased catch was in most demersal species and there was no pelagic catch..
In the 12 month period from July 2023 to June 2024 the catch was just under 1.1 million tonnes which is a 24% decrease from the previous 12 month period. This was mainly due to no capelin catch.
Information about catch of fish which are published in this press release are preliminary figures. The data is gathered by the Directorate of Fisheries.
