Total catch of Icelandic vessels in February 2013 was 234,674 tonnes compared to 312,230 tonnes in February 2012. Demersal species accounted for nearly 45 thousand tonnes, thereof cod 25 thousand tonnes, haddock nearly 6 thousand tonnes, redfish nearly 6 thousand tonnes and saithe nearly 4 thousand tonnes. The pelagic catch was 187 thousand tonnes, thereof capelin nearly 187 thousand tonnes and capelin 361 tonnes.
At constant prices the volume of the catch decreased by 13.7% in February 2013 compared with February 2012.
