The total catch of Icelandic vessels in July was just over 73 thousand tonnes, an increase of 3% when compared to July 2016. Demersal catch increased by 6%, 1657 tonnes, of which 22% was cod and 13% was haddock. Pelagic catch decreased by 2% or 920 tonnes. Shellfish catch increased by 32%.
In the 12 month period from August 2016 to July 2017 the total catch was 1120 thousand tonnes, an 8% increase from the same period from 2015-2016.
Price index value using fixed price increased by 6.3% compared July 2016.
