In the first three quarters of 2022, the value of catch of Icelandic vessels was 150 billion ISK according to preliminary statistics, 26% more than during the same period in 2021. The catch was 1.2 million tonnes but was 813 thousand tonnes in 2021. This increase in catch is mostly due to 375 thousand tonnes increase in capelin catch between the years.
