The value of catch from Icelandic vessels in January 2018 was 9.3 billion ISK. Demersal catch value was 6.8 billion ISK, of the demersal species the value of cod was just over 4.6 billion ISK. The value of pelagic catch was 1.9 billion, mostly capelin. Value of flatfish was nearly 570 million ISK and the value of shellfish was 15.4 million ISK.
Total value of catch in the 12 month period from February 2017 to January 2018 was just over 117 billion ISK which is a 6.3% decrease compared with the same period a year earlier.
