NEWS RELEASE INDUSTRY 21 JUNE 2011

The Building Cost Index compiled in the middle of June 2011 is 109.9 points (December 2009=100), 2.3% higher than in the previous month. The change is dominated by a 6.7% rise in wages due to an agreement between the Confederation of Icelandic Employers and the Icelandic Confederation of Labour (on behalf of its member unions) signed 5 May 2011 (effect on the index 1.8%). The index applies to July 2011.

In the last twelve months the BCI has increased by 7.6%.
