Total labour costs per hour increased between the 3rd and 4th quarters 2012 by 11.9% in Transport, storage and communication, by 8.5% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair, by 7.4% in Manufacturing and by 5.0% in Construction.
Total labour costs excluding bonuses increased between quarters by 4.4% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair, by 3.8% in Transport, storage and communication, by 2.0% in Construction and by 1.7% in Manufacturing.
From the previous year, total labour costs rose in all economic activities. The increase ranged from 2.8% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair to 4.5% in Construction. During the same period total labour costs excluding bonuses rose from 4.2% in Construction to 5.7% in Manufacturing.
The labour cost index measures, on a quarterly basis, the development of labour costs per hour worked. The index is not adjusted to changes in working hours or labour structure.
