A total of 9,200 individuals were unemployed in December 2024 according to seasonally adjusted results from the Icelandic Labour force survey. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.9%, the employment rate was 78.2%, and the activity rate 81.4%.
Seasonally adjusted unemployment increased by 1.2 percentage points month-on-month. The employment rate increased by 0.7 percentage points, and the labour force participation rate increased by 1.8 percentage points. The measured unemployment rate in December was 3.8%, the measured labour force participation rate was 79.8%, and the measured employment rate was 76.7%.
