NEWS RELEASE NATIONAL ACCOUNTS 15 NOVEMBER 2007

Disposable income of the household sector is seen to have increased by 18.7% from 2005 to 2006. Disposable income per capita has increased 15.4% and purchasing power by capita by 8%. The households’ total income rose by 16.5% and total expenditure (i.e. property expenditure and current transfers paid) by 13.1%

The disposable income of households has increased by 199% from the year 1994, or on average by 9.6% per year. The purchasing power of disposable income per capita has increased by nearly 71% over this period, which gives an average increase by 4.6% per year.

 

Older figures have now been updated. The main changes from previously published figures are that financial assistance from local governance to households has been added to current transfers received and wages and salaries in have also been revised for the years 1994 to 1996 and the year 2005.
