The building cost index compiled in the middle of December 2019 is 146.7 points (December 2009=100), 0.2% higher than in the previous month. The prices of domestic materials increased by 0.6% (effect on the index 0.2%). In the last twelve months the building cost index has increased by 2.3%. The index applies to January 2020.

This news release of the Building Cost Index is the last of routine news releases for the index. From January 2020 the statistical tables will be updated on their own without routine news releases. This concurs with the Advance release calendar of Statistics Iceland for 2020. However, there will be an announcement on the Statistical opening page on the release day and users can still be subscribers of the release.
