The CPI compiled in August 2006 is 264.0 points (May 1988=100), 0.34% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 243.7 points, 0.28% higher than in July.
Prices of groceries rose by 0.9% (effect on the CPI 0.13%) and prices of products and wages for regular maintenance for owner occupied housing by 3.5% (0.13%).
Continued summer sales led to a fall in prices of clothing and footwear by 3.4% (-0.15%). Owner occupied housing cost fell by 0.1% (-0.01%), thereof the effect of lower market prices of housing was -0.09% and of higher real interest rates 0.08%.
The CPI in August 2006 is 8.6% higher than in August 2005 while the CPI less housing cost is 7.1% higher than one year ago. The CPI rose by 2.0% over the last three months equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 8.1% (CPI less housing cost 7.0%).
The credit terms index in September 2006 is 264.0 points. The old credit terms index is 5.213 points in September 2006.
