Summer sales are winding down causing an increase in prices of clothing and footwear by 8.7% (effect on index 0.34%). International airfares declined by 9.0% (-0.16%). Prices of furniture and furnishings rose by 6.7% (0.11%).

The CPI is 3.2% higher in August 2019 than in August 2018 while the CPI less housing cost is 3.1% higher than one year ago.

The CPI compiled in the middle of August 2019, 470.1 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in October 2019. The old credit terms index for October 2019 is 9,282 points.
