NEWS RELEASE PRICES 22 DECEMBER 2020

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based on prices in December 2020, is 490.3 points (May 1988=100), 0.20% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 420.3 points, 0.14% higher than in November 2020.

Cost of owner occupied housing (imputed rent) increased by 0.4% (effect on index 0.06%).

The average CPI in the year 2020 was 481.9 points, 2.8% higher than the average in 2019. This change can be compared to a 3.0% rise in 2019 and 2.7% in 2018.

The average CPI less housing cost was 412.1 points in 2020, 3.0% higher than in 2019. This change can be compared to a 2.6% rise in the year 2019 and 0.9% in 2018.

The CPI is 3.6% higher in December 2020 than in December 2019 and the CPI less housing cost is 4.0% higher than one year ago.

The CPI compiled in the middle of December 2020, 490.3 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in February 2021. The old credit terms index for February 2021 is 9,681 points.
