Winter sales have started causing a price cut of clothing and footwear by 10.3% (effect on the CPI -0.55%). Fees for childrens daycare services went down by 9.3% (0.10%)
Owner occupied housing cost rose by 2.1% (0.33%), the effect of higher market prices of houses was 0.31%, of higher real interest rates 0.02 and of higher rates for land rent 0.03%. Charges of dwelling related services rose by 9.4% (0.11) and prices for petrol and diesel oil rose by 2.2% (0.11%).
The CPI in January 2006 is 4.4% higher than in January 2005 while the CPI less housing cost is 1.0% higher than one year ago. The CPI rose by 0.5% over the last three months equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 2.1% (CPI less housing cost: 1.7% deflation).
The average of the CPI in year 2005 was 244.1 points, 4.0% higher than the 2003 year’s average. Similar rise was 3.2% in year 2004 and 2.1% in year 2003.
The CPI less housing cost 2005 was on average 229.6 points, 0.9% higher than the average in year 2004. Similar rise was 2.1% in year 2004 and 0.7% in year 2003.
The credit terms index in February 2006 is 249.7 points. The old credit terms index is 4.930 points in February 2006.
