NEWS RELEASE PRICES 26 SEPTEMBER 2013

The Consumer Price Index based on prices in September 2013 is 415.2 points (May 1988=100), 0.34% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 394.2 points, 0.41% higher than in August.

Summer sales have now come to an end causing a 6.1% increase in prices of clothing and footwear (effect on the index 0.30%).

Beginning in September subsidies towards dental costs of children now include children aged 3 and 12-14 in accordance with regulation no. 451/2013. This change is accounted for in the CPI in September causing a 4.1% decrease in prices of dental services (effect on the index -0.05%).

The CPI is 3.9% higher in September 2013 than in September 2012 and the CPI less housing cost is 3.7% higher than one year ago. Over the last three months, the CPI has increased by 0.4%, equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 1.7% (0.6% for the CPI less housing cost).

The CPI compiled in the middle of September 2013, 415.2 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in November 2013. The old credit terms index for November 2013 is 8,198 points.
