Alcohol sales rose by 7% between years or from 23.2 million litres in 2006 to 24.8 million litres in 2007. In litres of pure alcohol the increase was 7.6%, from 1.722 thousand alcohol litres in 2006 to 1.852 thousand alcohol litres in 2007. Consumption per inhabitant 15 years and over was 7.53 alcohol litres in 2007 compared with 7.2 alcohol litres in 2006.
Sale of strong liqueurs is increasing again after having declined between most years since 1989 when sale of beer was allowed. Consumption of flavoured alcoholic beverages has been increasing since 2000. The sale of wine did not increase as much as in the previous years, with the exception of white wine which has been increasing greatly during the last six years. In the wholesale of alcohol, the proportion of bear in alcohol litres has been similar during last years or around 52%.
