NEWS RELEASE PRICES 17 NOVEMBER 2006

The HICP average for member countries of the European Economic Area (EU-countries, Iceland and Norway) was 102.8 points (2005=100) in October, 0.2% higher than in September. At the same time, the HICP for Iceland was 107.1 points, 0.2% higher than in the previous month.

The 12-month rate of change of the HICP was 1.8% for the EEA, 1.6% for the Euro-zone and 5.8% for Iceland.

The highest inflation rates in the EEA in this twelve month period were 6.3% in Hungary and 5.8% in Iceland. The lowest inflation rates were 0.6% in Luxemburg and 0.8% in the Czech Republic.
