The Producer Price Index (PPI) for the 4th quarter of 2006 is 121.6 points, 0.3% higher than in the previous quarter. The PPI for fish products is 128.5 points, 1.1% higher than in the previous quarter (effect on the index 0.5%). The PPI for other manufacturing products is 117.0 points, 0.3% lower than in the previous quarter (-0.2%).
The PPI for domestically sold products is at 106.5 points, 0.2% (0.1%) higher than in the previous quarter and the index for exported products is 130.9 points, 0.4% (0.2%) higher than in the previous quarter. The PPI for exported products, excluding fish products, is 134.4 points, 1.0% (-0.2%) lower than in the previous quarter.
Since the 4th quarter of 2005 the PPI has increased by 21.6%, the PPI for fish products rose by 28.5% and the PPI for other manufacturing products rose by 17.0%.

From now on the publishing of the quarterly PPI will be discontinued. Starting in January 2007 the PPI will be compiled as a monthly index with the first release on 27 February 2007, compiled monthly back to the 4th quarter of 2005.
