The producer price index (PPI) in August 2016 was 198.6 points (4. quarter 2005 = 100), which is 0.8% lower than in the previous month. The PPI for fish products was 255.2 points which is 0.9% lower than in July (effect on the index -0.3%) and the PPI for power intensive industry products was 175.3 points, 1.0% lower than in the previous month (-0.4%). The PPI for food products was 177.0 points, 0.2% lower than in the previous month and the index for other manufactured products was also 176.3 points, decreased by 0.6% (-0.1%).
The PPI for domestically sold products was 0.5% lower than in the previous month (-0.2%) and the index for exported products decreased by 0.9% (-0.6%).
Compared with August 2015, the PPI has decreased by 6.2%. The PPI for fish products has decreased by 6.2% and the PPI for power intensive industry has decreased by 13.1%. The price of food products has increased by 1.5%.
