The producer price index (PPI) decreased by 1.2% between February and March 2017. Prices of marine products decreased by 3.3% (effect on the index -1.0%), prices for other industry decreased by 3.1% (-0.7%) and prices of food decreased by 0.3% (-0.1%). Prices of power intensive industry products increased by 1.8% (0.6%).
Compared with March 2016, the PPI has decreased by 7.1%. Thereof prices of marine products have decreased by 12.9% and other industry decreased by 15.7%. Prices of power intensive industry products increased by 2.2%. When taken into consideration if the products are exported or sold domestically, exported products have decreased in price by 7.8% over one year, but products sold domestically have decreased by 5.5%.
