The producer price index (PPI) decreased by 1.1% between October and November 2019. The prices of other manufacturing industry increased by 0.8% (effect on the index 0.2%). The prices of food decreased by 0.6% (-0.1%), prices of marine products decreased by 1.1% (-0.3%) while the prices of power intensive industry products decreased by 2.7% (-0.9%) in the same period.

The PPI decreased by 3.3% from November 2018 to November 2019. Thereof prices of marine products increased by 6.6%, prices of other manufacturing industry increased by 3.1% and prices of food increased by 1.7%. Prices of power intensive industry products decreased by 15.9% in the same period.

Exported products have decreased by 5.6% in one year, while products sold domestically have increased by 0.8%.

This news release of the Producer Price Index is the last of routine news releases for the index. From January 2020 the statistical tables will be updated on their own without routine news releases. The Advance release calendar of Statistics Iceland for 2020 has been updated accordingly. However, there will be an announcement on the Statistical opening page on the release day and users can still be subscribers of the release.
