In the publication yesterday on the financial balance of the general government some mistakes were made in compiling the estimate for the expenditure on health. The expenditure was underestimated by 7 billion ISK. This correction does not affect the total balance of the general government finances.
Corrected figures show 3.4% increase in health expenditure (2.9% decrease in real terms). Thereof the increase in hospital services increased by 3.2 billion or 4% between years. Total expenditure on health services is 8.9% of GDP.
Statistics Iceland apologises for the inconvenience this might have caused but stresses that these are still preliminary figures.
