Statistics Iceland has published the results of its survey on the use of ICT and e-commerce in Icelandic enterprises. The survey was conducted earlier this year.

Results show that in 2008 the vast majority of Icelandic enterprises uses local area net-work (LAN) or 80%, 56% wireless LAN and 18% use open source operating system. Website is accessible among 77% of enterprises and almost half of Icelandic enter-prises make information on goods and services available on their website. Almost 30% use automated data exchange, preferably in connection with public authorities. In the year 2007 almost 40% of Icelandic enterprises purchased or placed orders for goods or services via computer networks and 24% sold or received orders from customers.
