A total of 4,637 persons with disabilities received services from 15 municipal service areas in 2016, a decrease of 92 (1.9%) from the year before. Of these, 1,591 were children 17 years old or younger (34.3%). More males than females received services or 63%, but boys were a majority of 0–17 year olds with disabilities or 73%. People receiving services were 1.4% of the total population, 2.0% of all children and 0.6% of people 67 years or older.
In December 2016 a little more than 21% of individuals with disabilities lived in collective living quarters, 15% in rented dwellings owned by municipalities or non-profit organisations and 47% lived with parents or relatives.
