In November 2015, overnight stays in hotels were 203,600 which is an increase of 28% compared with November 2014.

Nights spent by foreign tourists accounted for 88% of the total number of overnight stays in November and increased by 36% compared with November 2014. At the same time the overnight stays of Icelanders decreased by 7%.

In the Capital region, the number of overnight stays was 159,700, which is a 29% increase compared with November 2014. Overnight stays in the South region were 21,800 in November 2015. Overseas residents with most overnight stays in Iceland in November were residents from the UK (65,600), the USA (42,900), and Germany (13,300).

In the last twelve months, from December 2014 until November 2015, overnight stays in hotels were 2,763,400 which is an increase of around 21% compared with the same period in the previous year.

Occupancy rate for bedrooms in hotels in November 2015 was 57%
In October the occupancy rate for bedrooms was highest in the Capital region, around 77%.
