In October 2013, overnight stays in hotels were 158,500 compared to 141,100 in October 2012.

Nights spent by foreign tourists accounted for 77% of the total number of overnight stays in October and increased by 11% compared with October 2012. At the same time the overnight stays of Icelanders increased by 17%.

Nights spent in hotels increased by 13% for the first ten months
For the first ten months of 2013 the total number of guest nights was 1,792,879 and increased by 13% compared with 2012. Nights spent by foreign visitors increased by 13% while national guest nights increased by 11%.

The data above only show overnight stays in hotels that are operating for the whole year. Guesthouses and summer hotels are not included in this category.
