The wage index in April 2008 is 340.5 points, 0.9% higher than in the previous month.
The wage index in April reflects the effects of a collective agreement between the Confederation of Icelandic Employers and the Icelandic Confederation of Labour (on behalf of its member unions), which was concluded earlier this year. The wage index in March also reflected effects of the agreement and it was apparent then that the agreement would not come into full effect until April.
In the last twelve months the wage index has risen by 8.2%.
