According to the wage index, wages increased by 4.7% between the years 2009 and 2010. During the same period wages in the private sector increased by 6.0% and in public sector by 1.9%.
In the private sector the change in wages ranged from 5.1% for Managers to 7.2% for Service workers. In the economic activity of Transport, storage and communication the wages rose by 8.0% while the increase of wages was 3.6% in the economic activity of Construction.
These results and more are published in a new Statistical Series, Wage Index 2010. The wage index is a quarterly index and shows the changes of regular hourly wages in the private sector by occupational group and economic activity. An aggregate index is also published for the public sector.
