Wages increased 0.7% from previous quarter
Wages increased by 0.7% on average between the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2010 according to the quarterly wage index. During the same period wages in the private sector increased by 0.8% and by 0.5% in the public sector. Wages increased by 5.0% from previous year, 6.4% in the private sector and 1.9% in the public sector.
Wages in the private sector by occupational group and economic activity
Wages for Professionals increased by 1.1% from previous quarter, while wages for Craft workers and General, machine and specialized workers increased by 0.6%. Annual change ranged from 5.1% for Craft workers to 7.3 % for Professionals.
From the previous quarter, wages increased by 1.3% in the economic activity of Financial intermediation. During the same period wages in Construction decreased by 0.7%. The annual change of wage index ranged from 3.4% in Construction to 8.1% in the economic activity of Transport, storage and communication.
