Publication of data from the Physical Energy Flow Account (PEFA) expands the environmmental accounts that are available for Iceland. The accounts are produced using methods and procedures developed by Eurostat, which publishes detailed explanation on the content of the accounts. This working paper summarizes the PEFA design in Icelandic and highlights issues that may arise when trying to disseminate information contained in the accounts. The working paper also demonstrates some of the key indicators that are extracted from the account and used to compare economies across Europe in terms of energy production, energy imports and energy consumption.
