The number of persons in the labour force in the third quarter of 2009 was 182,500 which corresponds to an activity rate of 82.1%. The number of employed persons was 171,500 and unemployed persons were 10,900. The unemployment rate was 6%. The unemployment rate in the capital region is 7.1% and 4% in other regions.
