The Icelandic consumer price index (CPI) rose by 11.9% from April 2008 to April 2009. At the same time the CPI excluding housing rose by 15.6%. One of the main reasons for this high inflation attributed to a 44% higher price of foreign currencies in April 2009 than in April 2008.
