Transport
Statistics Iceland does not collect statistics on transport, but receives information from the Road Authority, the Transport Authority, Isavia and from public transport operators. The Transport Authority collects information on the number of Icelandic aircraft, motor vehicles and registration of ocean going vessels. The Transport Authority also provides data on road traffic accidents. Figures on domestic passengers, freight and mail transport through Icelandic airports are gathered from the Isavia as well as data on international passengers, freight and mail transport. Data on public transport statistics in urban areas are collected byh Strætó bs. and the Road Authority collects traffic counts on rural highways.
